The subject theme is tried and trite,

So commonplace that, as I write,

The youthful critic knits his brow:

Of doves and love! Enough for now!

 

I bow to you, my darling friend,

You’re armed with bait of words and yet,

You don’t critique my premise rightly

It’s timeless and therefore –

It’s timely!
